Advice on value? Video & pics included.

Post by -steves- » Wed Feb 15, 2017 9:30 am

Hi

I am contemplating selling one of my loco's but am not sure of its value at all. Its an IP Engineering Jessica 0-6-0 gauge adjustable for 32mm and 45mm, in 16mm scale. Full RC installed which is the Deltang TX24's (can do up to 12 loco's) and the RX65b integrated speed control and receiver. It comes in a display case carrying box. The centre wheels have been machined down to give it a tighter turning circle. The loco is in fantastic condition all round and works as it should. It also has duel colour LED's in the front and back, so the lights always shine white in the direction its going and red at the other end.

Any ideas on value if I were to sell it?

Pictures and video below.

Thanks
Steve

When you do sell it provide a video as you cannot expect people to pay hundreds of pounds for something they have not seen work.

It amazes me that people buy locos off eBay with no evidence that they function and when you ask the seller for a video they say they don't have any...

OK, it now can have a full charging system as I have a multi charger and a 62A 12 volt PSU to go with it. This is a powerful PSU taken from a server system and properly adapted by an electronics expert, and no that wasn't me as I wouldn't have a clue how to do it. He also made the 3D printed ends for it and put bullet connectors on it. The charger is a Turnigy Mega 400, which is a 400W charger and capable of charging 1-6 cell Li-po's, Li-fe and Li-lo, as wel as  2V -24V lead acid's, 1 cell to 18 cell Nicad and Nimh's with a max 20A charge. These chargers alone usually go for around £58 and the PSU's tend to go for somewhere between £60 to £100, it will charge pretty much anything! It has all required leads for this loco which has socket in the cab ready to plug into and is ready to go as a complete package. I will post a video of it running over the next few days, its very smooth and the directional lights look great.  :D

So a very special charging system and a cracking looking and driving loco all RC'd up and ready to go in display / carrying case, any ideas of rough value to put it up for?

OK, some pictures and a video done of everything, this is what I would use if I decide to put it up for sale. Sorry about the state of the track but it sits under a very large tree that makes it very dirty over winter and I have not got around to repainting and cleaning it this year. :( Although the camera and lighting do not show the direction LED's very well in the video, in real life the are outstanding clear in colour and there is no mistaking the red and white as they change.

The video shows the forward and reverse working as it should as well as the fine control you get with this RC system. The trucks are for display only and would not be included in any sale.

OK, I had a suggestion of a price and have put it quite a bit under that on the popular auction site, we shall see how it goes.

That will be a good buy for someone with the charger + Deltang gear.

Sad thing is I recognise that HP PSU as it is from a ProLiant server, nice alternative use!
