Do you think these are too bright compared to the lights on a full size small diesel shunter?

Depends if it is head lamp or a marker light

Well I guess it is a head light as it only has one front and back :)

I think it's fine then. My Jessie has been fitted with bright headlights in case I feel the need to play trains in the dark.
