Garden Railways in Mid Wales/Shropshire

Post by ivor the engine » Fri Jan 06, 2017 2:07 am

Hi
I've recenty taken delivery of a Roundhouse Darjeeling Garratt loco. I'm hoping there is somebody in the Mid Wales / Shropshire area that has a garden railway that would allow me to have a run on their track. My track will not be completed until the summer Many thanks
Howard

Although I am in West Wales, you would be most welcome to use my railway and I would be delighted to see your loco(s) running on it. It is a dog-bone loop with large radius curves and one running line with a slight incline.
pm me if you are interested.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?

If it is not too far away for you, then it sounds like the Hampton Loade Paddock Railway at the Severn Valley Railway might be a good place to try the garratt out on, from what I have seen it is a big railway and they seem to be welcoming to visitors too.

"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."
