Great work once again Tony, even the reindeer were helping!
Also watched "Building an engine shed" another marvelous piece of work. Interesting that the crowned pulleys are holding the belts dead true, bet that took some setting up. The walls and the individual brickwork just makes for a beautiful display piece.

Hi Grant,

Thank you for the compliment.

Also watched "Building an engine shed" another marvellous piece of work. Interesting that the crowned pulleys are holding the belts dead true, bet that took some setting up. The walls and the individual brickwork just makes for a beautiful display piece.

Oddly the pulleys can be quite misaligned and the belts slack and still work. The belt always seems to want to climb up the crown and stay in the middle of the pulley. If the belt is deliberately misaligned barely a half turn of the pulley will get it back in place.

Regards Tony.

That's very interesting Tony, I know that crowned pulleys and crossed belts are the way with full sized Traction engines and even modern tractor belt take-offs, often wondered how it would go on a model. Now I know!
Thank you very much.
Grant.
