You can wait until Brandbright are back up and running, they do nice white metal lamps.

Roundhouse do a two part whitemetal kit (you just have to glue the handle onto the lamp, it's very easy, even I can do it!).

I made some from plasticard. I had some 1/2 x 1/2 plastruct square tube and chopped it into lengths suitable for lamps. A short slice of tube on one side for the lamp and another on the top with a little lid for the vent. A bit of bent wire for the handle and a blast of white spray paint and you're done. From a 12" section of tube I made at least a dozen lamps in an easy evening. I'll try and post a pic later.
