Not Sedum Rik, which if I've got it right is a succulent. Don't know what it is but it's a prolific grower in cooler times, has very little hold on the ground (you can sort of comb it out with your fingers) and dies off very readily when temps rise, leaving seeds galore for next time.

Wonderful pictures! I love the paint finish on the loco, the simple one carriage train, the cab-first running, and - as others have said, the atmosphere the vegetation creates...

Well, whatever it is, it looks spot-on for scale weed growth beside the railway. I'm experimenting with sedums (seda??) in a couple of places in my garden which dry out quickly in the summer. Everywhere else generally stays quite damp and so moss and MYOB grow in profusion, but not along the back edge of the garden.

Bagnall got a run today, Raising steam on shed. On the down, Warringine Valley Bridge. Back amongst the weeds at Nayook. On the up, that curve again. Simmering on the turntable after the trip.

Certainly no Lady Anne frames in there Mitch. I bought a Katie boiler and chassis kit, Used the frames, wheels and rods for my petrol mechanical loco. Then used the cylinders, boiler and some motion parts for the steamer. I detailed this back somewhere in my railway section.

I just took the time to read the entire 27 pages of this and I’m in awe! Definitely given me some inspiration for my layout. Your loco shed and pot area is very similar to what I have planned on my head . Hopefully I can do a half decent job to the detail and atmosphere you have captured in yours

Where is it held?

Hi Dan,
It's held at the Gembrook Community Hall, but I'm afraid you have to register and pay upfront. It is a great three days, closed to the public, a big hall, two large layouts, some commercial stands, lunch morning and afternoon teas included. Didn't know what your situation was up there, perhaps next year. Hopefully it will be covered to some extent on Youtube, last years and others have been.

Other steamups closer to you are GRITH in the Hunter Valley and SHSU in the Southern Highlands. These two alternate, SHSU was on earlier this year, so next year would be GRITH.

Spring has sprung on the LNR, so a few pics. from today's runs showing the winters growth (which won't be around long if forecast temps are right for this coming summer.)
First up that curve over Warringine Creek Drifting into Warringine station Rounding Turpins curve (we lost the bush behind the house this winter, so the backdrop has gone) Pulling out of Warringine on the up. And finally back at Leawarra, with the afternoon goods made up in No. 2 road. Grant.
