Nice work Michael. I couldn't see it when you first posted but you have made a good job of that, well done.

What a good idea. The stove looks completely at home inside the coach and it's impossible to tell that it was made from a completely unrelated 'found' item.

I think this is what one aspect of modelling is about, seeing a shape not for what it is, but what it could be. Well done Michael, I guess a much required item where you come from.

The work goes on, here I have blackened the stove and been working on the framing on the coach windows. Now I´m thinking on the roof

Today a small premiere on the whole line. No steam, but the Ruston did the work and for the first time it circled round the lilac bush

In a way I feel that I have come to the end of this thread. By that I mean, I now have taken off.. My new Herrmann O&K loco arrived a week ago. Now I´m dealing with all the small details and adjustments that has to be done. And the work goes on..The last pics in this thread

Michael, that's a very attractive little loco you have there. A well tank that actually shows the tank. Look forward to hearing your experiences running it. I presume it is gas fired? fairly small water capacity I imagine.

Yes. I´m struggeling to learn to handle it in an efficient way. I just have had 3 testrides yet. To find the balance betwen the gasfiring and the waterconsumtion, seems to be crucial on this loco. In the driving instrucs, Herrmann points out that the waterlevel should be half full in order to save gass, when warming up...But afterwards, when it is been warmed to the right preassure? I don´t quite know yet... So until now I had a lot of stops to afterfill water.
Any advices?

Michael, I would think you just need to get to know the engine. Some more runs will surely let you know when it needs water, and how much. All engines are different, even those from the same manufacturer.
Love to see a photo of the cab and boiler backhead, gas tank etc.

The gasstank is hard to get eye on, it´s situated under the backend of the boiler.
And as you said I´m making progress in learning to drive the engine. It´s so fun!!!
