Potter Orchid Railway today and this area back in June this year. When the track ballast goes in, (2021 project) it should add a lot more to the railway's scenery.

Perfect!

You're right about the ballast too, I reckon, it will really complete the transformation...

Andrew.

MAM and her paint brush.
Progress on the halt's awning. Gutters and down pipes to come, Pottery shed awning extension work has started.
The step paths will have to wait till next year, however quotes for the work are underway at this time.

The planting is really filling out, sitting looking at a cold autumnal day here in the UK, you have to remind yourself that you guys are in the full throws of spring.

Spring, now that is a novel concept for here. We slept in one morning and we must have missed spring , we are in heat wave conditions, over 30 -35 degrees. Plants are starting to fry. Inland Queensland is having 40 degree days and new max highs are happening which are higher than the last few years of records. I just spent an hour watering the gardens out the back and one rain water tank is nearly dry, barely a trickle. We need a good storm to fill them up again. I had to resort to expensive town water to hold over the Veggie garden for a day or two this morning.
Of course the western world''s philosophy of we must have population growth and economic growth for an infinite amount of time to come has nothing to do with the current situation, we are all complicit in this. Our hobby is a first world consumption luxury.

Yep same here, the grass crackles under foot and is a lovely shade of brown 33C every day and 1mm of rain in the last 2 weeks.

Comrades, for those who live within traveling distance to Everton Hills (North edge of Brisbane) Queensland we have penciled in open run days here at the POR. Late arvo/dusk and into evening running till all have had enough. (32mm gauge)
19th December.
24th December, plus any days that some one blows in from the evening of the 26th Dec up to and including New year’s eve through the evening till 2021 is whistled in.
There will be snacks and beverages about the railway. If you need to, bring a sleeping bag, we have camp beds and floor space.
Call the Potters Orchid Railway admin office on 07 3353 3368 if you are interested.

A wee bit of progress at the Potters Orchid Railway here in Queensland. The pottery shed awning is forming up. If you about the north side of Brisbane this summer and have the urge to run your 32mm rolling stock, email or phone the world wide headquarters of Llewellyn.

Awnings look great, one of the best additions a garden line can have. I'd certainly be interested in visiting when it cools own next Winter. ;) Hope to have my new flagship loco rebuilt and fit to be seen by then.

Having seen some of the things you've tackled Dazza, I would be at all surprised if we were to spot a prototype sitting in a corner of your workshop!
