There is a std gauge railway station about half a mile away and I posted a pic of that as a Christmas card on that thread.
This was originally built by the British India Railway Co for the Portugese authorities as Metre Gauge. It was converted to Std Gauge in1997 and renamed the South Western Railway to link to the then newly built Konkan line which runs along the coast and links Goa to the rest of the Indian network.
When we were here 4 years ago I did get some pics of a line up in the Western Ghat range but I dont have access to them from here. I'll post one when I get home if you'll let me off till then, pretty please?!!
