coming on very nicely!

Have you been doing the bricklaying yourself? If so you've made a nice job of it. Its harder than it looks.
Thanks,

The garden is now looking more like a garden and not a building site!

Well....next week the capping stones should arrive with 2 tons of slate rockery stone, once this is all done track laying should be able to start. All hangs on the weather now. A few days of good weather next week and track will go down the week after!

Yesterday just over 2 tonnes of slate rockery arrived, after barrowing it round the back I used about a quarter of it landscaping the spiral! Need some more plants now.

thank you for all your comments!

What I am trying to achieve is a scenic garden railway in a small garden. One problem with a small garden surrounded by fences is hiding the fence. Hopefully once the garden matures they will be screned! Hopefully the minature landscape will gain some railway very soon!

All what you see here is what I have learnt from my previous railway, The Bloomfield Light Railway. That was not built as a scenic line, just somewhere to play trains. Later on in its life I tried to make it scenic which didnt really work too well, so what I learnt is making this railway better than the last.

Now that is one tall distant signal!!! :D

Looking good indeed, can't believe you have not laid track down yet. I'm the other way round, track down build it up after but then again it's my first one so I'm bound to run into issue's.

Nice load of slate as well, water feature sounds good.
Tommy Dodd may have an ARS key but I have a TASS button & a Rope Ladder, just like pirates, except the TASS button bit.

Im just dragging my heals. With being busy with the business it is easy to go out every now and again and do a bit of building. Track will go down before next weekend!

I can see that would help, I just like to play about with what I have...LOL.
BTW, if things work out here I hope to send my Carrie up for work in a few months.

Nice, I will pencil you in shane! I also begrudge laying the track as its all from my old railway, so after being layed for 10 years it all in need of a good sort out!

BTW the signal is a 5" gauge one, but around the scale height of those off the corris. Some of their signals where tall so they could bee seen over the tops of the houses around corris

Haha! Great, it will look stunning. Just one ask, how will you access the steamer that inevitably stops right at the other side of the spiral?
