Thanks all for the nice comments, sometimes I spend more time taking photos than running trains. My own little Utopian world.

Nothing wrong with that. Just remember to keep including trains!

They look really good Grant. Nice clean sharp photos. Thank goodness for your work, in my opinion, you capture the scene perfectly, you could easily pass for a professional photographer.

In think the slightly bleached look from the strong sunlight chimes with my idea of how an Australian rural community might appear. That's not based on experience (yet), but just a sort of gut feeling.

Thanks for sharing these Grant.
I often think that the most difficult photos to make realistic are those with no rolling stock in them. I also think they are the often the very best when they work out. You've absolutely cracked it with these!

Late afternoon, and nearly closing time. Paddy's tractor in for some work, and some petrol for a customer.

I have to say that I agree with Rik, your exposure on these photos really speaks 'hot Australian outback' to me. Despite showing the 'glaring heat', the exposure is just right, imo.

Had a couple of warm sunny days, at least down on the mill spur it's nice and shady. They're starting to fill the yard with logs
after a very wet spring.

Looks to be a quiet start to the season.

That's a nice touch with the smoke rising from the saw mill chimney stack . So realistic.

Thanks Chris,
Seems to be a feature of many photos of Australian mills.
It does make the backyard smell of baby oil though
