Looking good!!
How difficult was the lister kit to build? ive been umming and arring for some time but was waiting for somone to build one so i could pick there brains first!

was planning on gluing SB. Like i said on MSN solder sheet material is a big no no for me!

nah the soldering was a piece of p*ss. realy easy. you need a temp controled soldering iron, i had mine about 1/4 on, compared to almost full on for electrical soldering. i got some liquid flux from the model shop in town along with some soft solder for white metal at 70% lead. it has such a low melting point. its a shame they dont give you any pieces to to have a quick go on, but i had 2 extra angle bits that werent needed. it really was very easy, much stronger than glue i think, and quicker to set so can get more done. if you cant solder it, ill do it for a small price

just to add, if you really want to have a lister with detail, and i mean super detail, this is the closest i can see to an original when i looked at ours on monday night.

price is £205 unpowered, but might concider buying one at some time in the future.

could you use there roof kit on the IP version i wonder?

Good pics, nice to see progress is fast! Will you be ballasting it?
Lister looks lovely too, I would get one if I had enough money to spare on leccy locos...

gonna balast the boards, but not where its on the sleepers.
dont think the roof kit will fit on the ip lister, the ip lister is 2.5" x 4.5"

Oh thats smaller than i would of thought it would be. Deffinatley narrower than i thought!

if you wanted a canopy i could make u one when half terms over. With welding rod and some thin ply
May not be the most refine of designs but would have a go if u like?

great minds!
Hopefully next open season i will pass out as a driver so as to be able to drive the resi listers and simplex not just visiting locos.

yeh same. we have a bagnall steamer, a lister, a simplex, another different simplex and a ruston hornsby.
we have two Simplex but one is oposite drive, two listers and a Hibbard Y type. the ones that work regulaly are the listers as they are on the top railway which is pretty much finished apart from the engine shed. Theres only one simplex that works and the other two are under restortation. I think the simplex and one of the listers are on youtube. Will link u up if u wont?
