Well done JOhn your painting is an inspiration.

Here are the three new skips, ready to go into the 'paintshop' I think that will be the total of wagons for the new train for the time being, doing the same wagons several times I'm just about skiped out.

Hopefully, if there is good weather, and I finish the painting, we shall have a first running of the complete new train next week-end.

I don't know if I am going to be able to fix the Ruston loco by then - the motor has come loose in the chassis and there is fault (dry joint?) in the wiring somewhere.

New train tested today - The little old Ruston (built 2004 / 3 volts / only one axle driven / plastic wheels) managed the 16 axles, although did slow down a bit around our 1.5 metre (5 feet) radius curves. It is a little unwell in the wiring department so may be rebuilt with a new chassis soon.

The load on the bogie (last) wagon was only temporary, and I am making some bits and pieces to form a permanent (fixed) load.

I thought that I would have to add some more weight to the skips to stop them pulling over on the curves (they only have a small strip of lead under the middle channel), but they ran without any trouble.

I am a little unhappy with the finish to these skips, so these are going back into the paint shop.

Here is the loaded rail wagon, so far. Basically I have just added (glued on) a few 'rails' and a grease tub. A few more items, like chains, fishplates and bits & peaces may be added later, but that will do for now.

Next running session planned for tomorrow, as well as discussions as to the next project.
