Ah, but my cylinders are the upgraded super cylinders from DS. NOT Mamod/MSS with 'upgrade kit'.

I believe it insanity to use a high-pressure boiler on the weaker cylinder types.

Ah, but you see, they are sold as "Mamod /MSS upgrade parts" - not PPS alternatives

If they've been designed to work along with the rest of the range, the 40psi rating of the boilers might apply to the cylinders ?
I dunno, it's just a thought ;)

The thought has crossed my mind regarding the higher pressure situation.

Howeer, looking at PPS's own upgrade cylinders, a few on a few PPS Janets about and DSs, well, they all seem identical.

Hold that Stay, let through the Steamers of Dreams to the List!

At 10pm at night they've responded to me, not even argued over purchasing times or usage times [bought: Oct 10, as part of the Long Termer / 'forum joke', steamed Oct '11]...
20:30

Good Evening Doug,

No problem, can you pop it in a jiffy bag and send it back to us, I will strip it down, rebuilt it then pressure test it before sending it back to you. Faults on these units are very uncommon but it does sometimes happen. There will obviously be no charge for this.

Kind Regards, Paul.
That settles it. Enter them into the good book!!

But make sure that when you thank-them-very-much, you also ask "What pressure are they tested to?" which should clarify a few things on this (split) thread ;)

Already said it, and have asked for an upto-60psi cylinder testing.

Maybe then we can settle some points down for future Mamod owners. :)

Dream Steam score again late in extra time!

My Mamod suffered the dreaded "wonky wheel" syndrome while running in on blocks - the wheelsets were brand new as part of the re-gauging kit.
I contacted Dream Steam just asking their advice on preferred method of fixing - a replacement set dropped on the doormat not 48hrs later :D

Now you can't get much better after-sales support than that!

Sent Dream Steam an e-mail a couple of weeks back, asking if they sell the re-fill gas adaptors seperately. 3 days later.... Link to a new page.... Another good example!

And DS knock in another lovely goal, to use the analogy - got my cylinder back a-okay! :D

Thank you Dream Steam!
