Yesterday Alan PMed me elsewhere to say they would be posted.
Today I get rudely awoken by the postie to sign for an odd parcel...
Well, what do you know! Maybe Alan has made a change for the good - I'd like to think so, since I do think his range of products
are very good, it's only his level of service which has put me off!
Hopefully we'll hear more of the same

I'd better get my order for nameplates submitted quickly before the plans for this tender of Doug's get sent... who knows what kind of a job that's going to be!

My stuff is platework and such, which can be done easily. Whereas the complaints have been re nameplates, which makes me wonder whether it -is- batching time.
Still - regardless, throughout Alan and I were in touch, at least once a week so communications for me weren't problematic at all.

Have you made him aware of this thread which has until very recently put him in bad light.
I hope we receive better reports of service to allow people the be able to recommend him once more.

SCC - That's an idea. I personally reckon this thread's a bad idea, it kinda boulder-roled into a lynch mob.
Keith - cheeky!

I'm designing the tender to be as made as simply as possible for ease of maintenance, use and such.

Its a fact that when comeone gets good service they wont go online to tell others how good it was but if they get bad service the world gonna hear about it.

Well, time to take that and stamp on it -
My name is Douglas and I got great service from Alan Briggs Ltd. I also look forward to future collaborations unhesitantly.
[photos later btw in my thread]
- very true point though Pauly.

That's an old cliche - but I really don't think it applies on here.
People "tell it like it is" and there are as many good reports as bad ones (in fact, possibly more good than bad)
It's good that we keep each other informed, and it's human nature to defend / favour friends and aquaintances.
As long as things don't turn into some kind of witch-hunt or get personal, it's a helpful aspect of the Forum

I've been waiting a few days shy of 1 year for my order. I might as well as eaten my 20 quid and got more use out of it.
Still........... maybe tomorrow...............

Hi, hope you dont mind me asking buy have you joined just to state that you havent recieved your nameplates?
If so this really reinforces my statement about people not caring when they get good service but really caring about bad service.
(no offence to you intended)

In short, yes. However i have posted positive words about him on the old G scale mad forum after recieving some nice Edrig buffers. Now after numerous emails & letters and no replys about my last order i feel people must be warned!.

I spoke to John at MDC this morning. His investigations in to some different production methods have proved fruitful, and MDC will soon to be able to reduce their delivery times, particularly for works plates and anything else that is even slightly non-standard.
After placing an order, MDC make the plates and send them to the customer with an invoice. Payment can be by cheque or PayPal, and is only ever requested once the customer has the plates in their possession and is entirely happy with them.
Further details can be found on my web site:
