love the diesel i would be very interested does it come with motor wheels etc

Complete kit incl. motor, gears, battery holder, switch, wires.

It uses tabs and slots in order to make it easy to assemble. Not particularly bothered if I don't sell any - I need an electric loco for myself and I like working with CAD and the laser cutter. Looks should improve once it has some mesh, windows and overlays fitted.

The cab door could be a touch higher to my eye.It wants a 16mm driver figure[a paper cutout will do] so we can judge the size.

Spooner, I have already increased the door height on the cut file. I've run out of MDF so can't cut another one until I buy some more on Monday.

Here is a picture of the loco with our good friend IKB. He stands 6 feet tall at the top of his hat.

The chassis is just one from a flatbed but there will be a dedicated one for the loco. I might make those available separately for those that want to build their own loco superstructure.

I'm still debating with myself if I should just make the engine compartment flat topped. That would make assembly easier. As mentioned previously, the main objective is to make something a child could build with a bit of supervision. Hence the use of tabs and slots.

Further ideas are skips with vac formed tubs and some superstructures to fit on the flatbeds. Depends on how much free time I have. I'm moving house twice in the coming month, first up to Luton then to Germany.

Nothing will be available until I have some track so I can make test runs. I don't like to sell things I'm not 100% sure work.

keep the slopes on the diesel It may be a little extra complication but it stops it looking flat and boring.

If you want someone to test build I'd be happy to volunteer!

I may offer the option of flat or sloped. I'm not that keen on the plasticard cover though as it splits so easily when bent.

My brother will be 6 soon. I think that this would be a nice present for him to build, we will also be able to see if it really can be built by a child! Although it might turn out with a rather colourful livery

Motors, gears, battery boxes etc have been ordered and should be here in a few days. My track arrives tomorrow as does more wood.

Just received the Ragleth today. It is ginormous! The flatbeds look too small behind it. I'm used to Mamod sized locos. Better make two sizes available. The MDF wheels roll just fine on the Peco track BTW.

Bu88er! The 4mm MDF I had ordered arrived today and it turns out it is only 3.2mm thick. I really needed 4mm for the wheels. This is a very unwelcome setback that delays completion of the flatbed kits

We are in the middle of a house move and most of my workshop is packed away in boxes. Unfortunately I have no idea when I can start production. We move up to Luton this week, then I'm off to Germany end of the month. The first apartment I picked did not become available so I had to take what I could get and the other one may not have room for the laser. I will be in temporary accommodation for at least 4 months.

Sorry, but I just can't give a solid date at present.
