I agree, carry on. I didn't know that IP were away, that would be why my replacement balcony hasn't arrived yet!

you could always claim that the builders of the coach in the DVLR works were suppost to have the doors at one end but looked at the plans the wrong way round when constructing the other side!

That looks like another very neat model from IP!
Re-the sides, I would say that serendipity is at work here. Since the rest of the DVLR stock has doors at opposite ends, I think it's reasonable that the Management would specify this layout when ordering the coach from the builders after seeing the WHR version
I didn't know IP were closed either
I'd just convinced myself that I needed to order a rake of laser cut freelance coaches for the W&LLR! Now I'm going to have plenty of time to change my mind..............again 
What are you going to use to "fill in" the lettering? Miliput? Plastic wood?

thick paint? carefully dribbled in and then sanded down. I have added planking to the floor (which didn't have any?? Come on IP, if you've got a LASER might as well add planks to the floor!) and have now varnished the interior. I hate to see the edges of the glazing so I will be building up an internal framework to hold the glazing and make it all look nicer. That way I can use photo frame glass of a slightly thick very clear perspex that I have instead. (the IP stuff goes horribly blue 3 years down the line)

Right, another flurry of activity!
As you can see the carriage body is now more or less built. It just flew together! The seats need staining. I may leave the shadows of the letters in place as if the old letters have been prized off and replaced with new ones. You can clearly see the staggerd seating due to the problem with the kit. Painting next in DVLR Olive and Elm before lighting, breaking, roofing and wheeling...
YOu can also see the LASER cut floor detailing.
I showed Ivan the model at the brandon show and he eventually worked out what was wrong with it! I now have yet another carriage to build which he kindly gave me so if anyone wants a carriage building give me a shout!

Very nice, do you think he'll ever put it on his website? I really want pne, the last narrow gauge railway I went on with my Gran, and in that carriage

I think that the kit is going to be only available via the WHR shop, it was a 'special' done for the shop.
I will ask them as I will be there later in the week, and will posta reply when I am back home.

They did have that kit for sale at their last show though, along with some other new kits
