Okay well, It's been a while since Jack answered his question, so I thought I'd just post one.
Where is this?
Should be quite easy for those who know the area.

Llanbadarn area, I reckon. Looking towards the pair of LCs (and Aberystwyth).

I think it's Capel Bangor - just above the level crossing, looking back towards the station. The car in the background is on the bridge over the river.

Correct, It's on the lane towards the Horse riding centre (you have to pass a cattle bridge to get there)
I knew that bridge would give it away.

I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel now, but had fun rummaging through the old cardboard box of (real, printed) photos this morning. Someone will get this straight away, I imagine:
On the plus side, I found a number of "16mm heritage" style photos including some of the Marquis's first garden line, and quite a lot of the Glenview and Smelt Mill Bay Railway in Bangor, Co. Down. A separate thread may follow in due course.

Indeed - the combination of 3' gauge and chaired, ex-main line bullhead track kind of gives it away, doesn't it?

Tried to revisit the FVR a few years later (by steam from Belfast) but No. 85's tender derailed just short of Damhead crossing near Coleraine. On the plus side, I did get a nice shot of a (now) member of the NRM curatorial staff being rescued from the train by the fire brigade.

Hmm, this is vexing. It seems familiar.
Memory tells me that the floors in Oakeley were lettered below and numbered above.
Is this a comparison between the adjacent floors in Cwmorthin and Oakeley, around Lefel Ffrench (the dewatering level)?
