Well, I must admit to being somewhat bemused - haven't really experienced anything like this since my days at Warmington with that man Wilson. I received a telegram from the director of the CHLR telling me to expect imminently the arrival of the Inspector, in his crate. Crate arrived last week, and, well, admittedly there was some confusion, apparently the porter mistook the crate for an item for storage, and err, harrumph when I sorted the whereabouts of the crate - it was gone!
And then, whilst trying to sort out this incomprehensible muddle, the following postcard arrived.
Goodness knows when we shall see this fellow. I'm not impressed, as I told Elizabeth only yesterday. Reminds me of old Jones, the butcher. Tut tut.
So, it seems there will be a delay in commencement of our inspection, but we shall be ready. Poised for action. Indeed. Harrumph.

A Morecambe card posted from Mauritius. So easy to confuse the two as holiday destinations.

I've had a wonderful break in lovely Moribund with an ex-flame. She was a most generous and talented host, and spared no expense showing me the delights of Moribund - we had many pleasant evenings dancing to the Moribund Midgeley Quartet at the Midland Hotel. Alas, after a lovely two week break, it's time to get back to my day job. It appears that the manager fellow at the Greta and Wenningdale Railway does not understand the operating principles of my crate. It was most fortunate that my friend the good Doctor was willing to equip it with his remarkable T.A.R.D.I.S. technology. It has enabled me to inspect railways from many different eras. Now, I'll adjust the settings, for time and place and....oh dear - my temporal clutch appears to be slipping. Hopefully I'll arrive on 1st October 2020 and not before.


Well this is bizarre - there appears to be no one around, and by the look of the place, there hasn't been for some months. This does not appear to be an operational railway. I'll just check in the station building and see if I can find somebody.
Hmmm, most strange - according to the electronic clock in the waiting area the date is March 2021! The problem with my temporal clutch is worse than I feared. There must be someone around - I'll have a walkabout and see if I can find somebody - I shall of course report back in due course.

Love the crate materialisation. I see the Doctor still hasn't worked out how to rig up a working chameleon circuit though!

Thank you all for the kind wishes - my unwellness simply has not compared with what so many have and are continuing to go through, but I feel I can now at least function again
I wasn't too happy with the animated gif for the crates arrival, so I've remastered it as a video, albeit a short one. Do go back and view it - I think it is improved!
And I am determined to get this inspection done, although it might be in dribs and drabs

Is the chameleon circuit the one that was supposed to make the TARDIS blend into it's surroundings? I'm guessing so, but I don't think the INSpector was offered that when his crate was modernised
The sign writing is laser printed, onto water resistant durable labels by Avery (iirc). Since the station was placed outside and left there in 2016, I have had to renew it once (early last year) due to sun fade.

I think it's brilluant and I'm glad you mentioned it because tbhI hadn't realised that it was animated before!

dribs and drabs is good, it will pad the thread out, because I don't think we have anyone else on the list, so if anyone wants an inspection please PM me - don't post on this thread.

That's precisely why I redid it, it didn't seem to continue running as an animated gif.

Yes, but it got stuck as a police box in the 1960s and the Doctor still doesn't seem to have fixed it, so not surprising she didn't offer it to the inspector... The video is even better with the sound effects... though I thought I heard the cloister bell at the end there, indicating some catastrophic threat to the space-time continuum. Could this be what has caused all the humans to vanish on the Greta and Wenningdale? I hope they haven't been exterminated...

I misread that the first time as renew it each year, which seemed reasonable... but once in five years is great. I imagine it wouldn't be nearly as long with an inkjet...but I might experiment.
