Hi Peter, Thanks for the great comment and glad you liked the video. It's been raining for weeks and weeks here so it was great to get out into the garden for a day's filming and playing trains. The garden is looking really colourful now so let's hope the weather lasts.
Thanks and best wishes from the Pine Tree Junction family.

Lovely video, and camera work too! What made you go down the Thomas the tank engine route?
"So, when is this newfangled railway coming?"
"When we have enough money..."
"Where is this money coming from?"
"Havent thought that far..."

Hi, Thanks for the post and the great comment. We have lots of fun making these little videos so it's always nice when folks say nice things.

Why Thomas? Well, we started off with our 16mm live steam Roundhouse locos which are fantastic and still give us lots of pleasure running. We particularly like taking them to other railways, like the Charnwood Forest Garden Railway on the GCR.

Thomas started when we purchased a Thomas starter set for our grandchildren. One thing led to another and we found we had such fun making the Thomas videos that we just kept on. We found they are great to film and so we made some line side accessories and then purchased the Playmobil toys as well.

We like to think that our railway has now taken on a cartoon railway style where anything goes. The garden is also very important and we get lots of fun and pleasure from keeping it nice and watching the tress and plants change over the seasons.

So there you are. Lots of fun, lots of laughs and lots of cups of tea and sandwiches. Also, with lots of time on our hands, now we are retired, garden railways are a great hobby and making these little Thomas videos keeps us young at heart! Can't be bad!

Hope you visit us again.
Thanks and best wishes from the Pine Tree Junction family.

Thanks for that, it is a truly beautiful railway. I thought you lived somewhere in america, as the weather in your videos is always sublime!

Hi, Thanks for the lovely reply.

Our house is over 100 years old so the garden is well established with lots of mature trees and bushes. The railway went in about six years ago now when we retired. One thing led to another, as things do with garden railways, and here we are. I must say it give us enormous pleasure to just look out of the window and see our little model world in the garden.

Finding those little alpine plants to give that extra colour has been really exciting. This time of year is brilliant as all the plants and bushes begin to come into flower. We live in the West Midlands and we only try and film when the sun is out. That's why we don't make new videos very often.

We use a Canon EOS 600D camera with a 18-200 lens and edit on a MacBookPro in Final Cut Pro X. We also use a tripod with a long arm which gives you those crane effect shots as the camera sweeps and swoops over the landscape. It really makes a difference as everything moves in the shot and reveals new things all the time.

All our Thomas locos are converted to battery and radio control so no problem with track power. We can switch over to track power if we want but don't bother much.

It's amazing that our channel has been watched now over 10 million times as we only started this for fun and something to do.

There you go. Be careful what you wish for!

Hope you visit our channel again sometime.
Thanks and best wishes from the Pine Tree Junction family.

Is there any chance of seeing a picture of your whole fleet of locos?

Hi, Thanks for the post. It's a little while since we made this video but most of our locos are featured here. We shall have to make another one with our latest editions. Hope this helps.
