Fitting Cambrian models center buffers?

Fitting Cambrian models center buffers?

Is there a best way to do this? I'm slowly progressing with my Rustonish diesel outline loco (must take photos) and have bought some bits from Cambrian models which I'm very happy with. I'm just not sure the best way to fit the buffers so take the strain of the train. I was considering a suitable sized self tapping wood screw in to the plastic but if anyone knows a better way of doing it I'd be very happy for the advice :)

Do the castings come with a stub on them or a hole in the centre?

A hole down the centre, I've had a closer look now and they wouldn't take the self tapping screw :?

You could try epoxing a bolt in the hole?

I have used self tappers in the past and they seem to work well.
I do like the idea of gluing a bolt or threaded rod in the hole though. I might try it next time.

I've tried the self tappers and they did work, after I tried a slightly larger screw :oops: Thinking about epoxying in a threaded rod, which I might try another time, I'd also drill a small hole into the rod so the coupling hook could screw through the buffer into the rod making it even stronger.
