jacksons minatures peterchurch station
on friday i got a little parcel through the post. jacksons minatures station, i've put the station together and its a nice little kit made out of moisture resitant mdf .this mdf is very good stuff; im a carpenter and have used this to made bath pannals etc in the past and it should last a long long time even if it does get socking wet. i've screwed it together and gule guned the inside joints to help hold it all togeter. i've modified the kit and cut off one of the lean too ends to make it look a little diffrent . im using manaco brick slips to cover the station. these are tiny and are guled on with pva. i found it easier to put them on and then move the bricksvwith a sharp pencel. i marked where the doors and windows are and started under the windows. iv put a few lines on to guide me but am mostly doing it by eye. hopefuly it will give a very realistic effect. i also have tiles for the roof that i will put on after.
im seeing bricks in my sleep
ok progress has been a bit slow of late so heres a few more pics nerly out of bricks used nerly 1000 so far windows have had final coat of paint and been fitted done some more brick laying and its looking rather good.iv also groated some bricks in the round bricked off bit on the end of the building will have NORTH AVEUNE LINE on in in black with a white backaround .going to try and make some more bits for it today as its cold and wet outside
got the slates and bricks from herehttp://www.minaco-uk.com/page5.htm sadly the tiles that looked bloody good haven't whet herd too well a few have come off or jest sort off disintegrated so I don't think il use them again I followed the instructions and glued them on as they said too the rest off the station has withered well and looks fine
