Broken Mamod Track Needed - Situation Solved - Thanks

Post by jameswmorgan » Thu Feb 27, 2014 1:43 pm

My terminus has produced a short section of track which doesn't join up. You'll get the idea from the pictures. (It reminds me of happy days with Hornby 3 Rail).
Does anyone have about an inch of straight track end (including the fastening) from a broken piece of Mamod Set Track that they don't need?

I'm afraid not. One idea though. could you cut a section out of the long side of the loop, then both sides would be the same length?

Thanks, Matt, but I want to avoid cutting full lengths, the stuff's expensive enough as it is!

Looks to me like it is almost worth trying to splice in two short bits of rail without sleepers (or even suitable section metal bar) just to fill in the gap. No idea how you would fix them, don't think thermit welding for mamod track has been invented yet...

I've certainly considered it. A mixture of superglue, vinegar and brown paper!
