Here is one for all you Corris buffs out there.
I have always had a certain fondness for Maespoeth on the Corris Railway. I have been looking at pictures of the original layout (c.1930) and have figured this much out:
Line from Corris comes in from the north past the dunny and the engine shed.
LH turnout gives access to engine shed, whilst a RH point gives access to the 1921 siding installed to serve the wooden shed. Then as now there was room for several vehicles/locos to stand in front of the loco shed. I do not see any evidence of a siding kicking back towards the Box, though.
Next thing heading south is the signal box with the Upper Corris Tramway coming down behind it.
After that I have not been able to find anything clear enough to really make my mind up what was going on. I assume that behind the camera man was the tramway junction, possibly with some sort of sand drag.
Was there a loop (and possibly) sidings south of the tramway junction?
Cheers,
Peter in AZ

Maespoeth - original layout
Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.
