Roundhouse 2020

Will we see a Roundhouse company in 2020 With retirement knocking on the door and well deserved to, may I say. Is there a future I hope so ..with Brandbright nearly closing shop and winding down I do hope we have a safe secure next decade.

I hope so too.... Is there more that the leading manufacturers could do themselves to promote their products? It is not sufficient to rely on existing customer bases to keep them going. As in all industries, advertising and spreading the word are essential. Possibly in areas where it may not be immediately obvious there are potential buyers?

I knew they were looking for a buyer. Didn't think it was as bad as that!

It's all delicate stuff. If there is a need, then there is a company, if it is run right. When the company owner has had enough, it stays alive if they are not greedy and sell to what someone is prepared to pay rather than what they want. If they price the business too high no one buys it and it slowly keels over. It would then have a pause whilst someone else geared up to supply the demand. I'm sure we don't have to worry, but we could see changes or the odd pause if the company's want too much to sell up.

I wouldn't worry too much. Even if both the founders are ready to hang up their branded green dustcoats (though I thought Barry had a few years yet even if Roger has had enough) there's enough younger talent to keep them going a fair while. I believe Harri is effectively CME (design) there now and he seems to be turning out some class kit.
