Campbeltown and Machrihanish Milk Wagon Drawings

Post by Paul H » Thu Sep 05, 2013 6:55 pm

Does anyone know of drawings for the C&M milk wagon? None are presented in MacMillan's book (1970 or 1993) and the wagon only appears in one photo I know of. Are there any other photos aside from the end view adjacent to the loco shed?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

The C&M Milk Wagon was based on their 4 1/2 ton coal wagons but with slatted sides extending upwards above the normal sides of the coal wagon.
I'd assume that the basic dimensions for both would be roughly the same - the only question would be the height of the slatted section.

From the photo, the milk wagon appears to be wider than the coal wagon by a substantial margin. I would agree the length should be the same as should the chassis configuration, but the width and top planks are the question.

I believe I have seen photos of a model on INJIN's railway behind an Archangel Princess. Does anyone know who owns this wagon?
