Crumbs, I had Bond down as the non-driving type, I have to confess.

Mark 5 Fiesta, In a lovely Red with standard Alloys on, was a lovely little car, only had a 1.3 petrol but it didn't 'alf go! Rarely had any problems with it in the 2 years or so I had it.
I had the clutch changed because it was on its way out anyway and a couple of tyres and spark plugs. It never once broke down, never didn't start on a cold morning, I loved it!

The funny thing is after I sold it ( :crybaby: ) the exhaust fell off not long after apparently!

My first was a DT 175 Yamaha, although I wasn't allowed a motorbike so had to hide it at friends house. First car was a 1985 MG Metro that was only 4 years old at the time & very clean....Was that is. Spent a lot of the time having to park it hard up against the hedge at home to avoid parents seeing various scrapes & knocks. :D
Tommy Dodd may have an ARS key but I have a TASS button & a Rope Ladder, just like pirates, except the TASS button bit.

I really hate driving but if it means I can go and play on a railway for a day without nagging and bartering with the parents then its a good thing in my books...

Golly you're not Mr F C in disguise are you?? That all sounds awfully familiar! My first car was a 1965 BMC Mini and then a Ford Anglia which got written off by some twat driving into the back of me while I was waiting to turn right. Then my pride and joy a Triumph Herald which I managed to get 95mph out if down the A10 with 4 people in it!

But Catweasel, when Mr F C turned up on our first date ( a blind date arranged by his mother!!) he had a Humber Hawk and I fell in love .... with the leather bench seats and the walnut dashboard. Our eldest son was conceived in a Series 1 Landrovet with a number plate of 800 RPM!!

With the roof down of course, although ironically some of those adverts had a photo of the fixed roof MGB GT V8.

Mrs F. Sad anorak time. The Super Snipe had the timber dash. The Hawk had painted metal. Looked good though.

  yes you're right! Mr F C also corrected me because his second car was the Super Snipe too! You sure you're not him??  He also had a bright red MGB too! He seemed to change cars every week to me, but his dad was a second hand car salesman!

By the way do they 'do it' in cars any more these days??! Anybody going to own up? Oh and I was married by that point by 4 years!

Mrs. F.C. I don't think so. After the Snipe I had a modified Westminster, then a Modded A35, followed by a mental Minor with 180b.h.p. I made my own front hubs for that so I could fit disc brakes. Then a Fiat Abarth 1000 Bialbero. That was quick. Based on a Fiat 600. Then I got married and we were given a 1956 Beetle. That ended up with a 2 litre lump in it. Another Beetle after that,1966 1300, but built for club rallying. Mostly Porsche underneath. Various others after that. Now? A bog standard Peugeot 307 estate car but I have a lot of friends with mad machinery. Mercedes E class estate, 235 mph. etc. All mad petrol heads.

It was a spectacularly unreliable 1997 Jeep. So many breakdowns...

I am a biker rather than a driver but when I did have to resort to 4 wheel transport I got a Ford Escort MkIII. Nice motor but turned out to be a bit of a rust bucket in places so had to resort to some major surgery.
