Good lord, where do PTLRcecil and his dad stop? There'll be a ring railway around Ulverston before long .

The neighbour is very intersted into garden railways, he's already bought an Edrig! PTLRcecil was telling me last week that it is pluasable that the railway could end up circumnavighating both houses, forming a massive ring railway round part of Ulveston. Look forward to running on it when its done, the first garden railway to run in two gardens!!
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Pine Tree Station will be rebuilt across the new line, but had to be pulled out to allow access to the construction of it! Matt, the aim is to have Pine Tree Station back in running order within a couple of weeks! Well, thats the estimate anyway!

About another 20ft of posts have been planted. and a few more boards have been cut, treated and screwed down! Its all go to get the CGRL servicable by 22nd August!

Why the 21st?
There is a good chance the CGRL will be in operation by about then, with some of the PTLR North vonstructed also.
CGRL was my creation. This is quite a momentous project. The joining of 2 railways. There is a similar feat going on in Porthmadog. The joining of 2 lines. And the section that joins them across town is the Cross Town Rail Link (CTRL). CGRL is a play on that, and stands for Cross Garden Rail Link!

Huge progress! The first bit of track has been laid. It is really flying on now. More posts hav been planted in all directions and boards cut to suit also. Pics will follow later, or appear on the PTLR website depending on cecil.

Poor weather cant hold us down! We now have approx 40ft of track laid on the PTLR North and 10 feet on the CGRL. If the weather is fine tomorrow we should get another 20 feet laid on the CGRL, as boads have been screwed down today between the rain and wind! After 2moro there will just be me and the PTLR (N) owner working on construction as PTLRsam and cecil are going up to Bo'ness and Kinneil to play big trains for a week! Lucky sods! Hopefully by their return we should have another 10 - 20ft either laid, or ready to be laid. All really depends onn weather and other commitments next week!
