Flat Bed Wagon kits now available

Post by Busted Bricks » Thu Aug 23, 2012 12:17 pm

This is the first kit in what will hopefully be an extensive range:

The aim has been to keep cost as low as possible and still leave room for the 20% the tax man wants in VAT. It has proper steel wheels on silver steel axles that run in sintered bronze bearings. Assembly time is less than 15 minutes excluding paint/glue drying time.

It has also been my aim to make the kit easy to build without the use of tools. The frame assembly uses slots and tabs to it is effectively self-aligning. Coupled with the low cost it is my hope that it can get children started in the garden railway hobby.

In the works is a 45mm gauge version as well as a smaller flat bed wagon and a matching budget electric loco.

Here is a sneak peek of the loco. No detailing like glazing has been added at this point and the chassis is not completed.

That's a very appealing little van. It almost cries out for a coorugated iron roof. :)
