Glad you enjoyed folks.

The Battery Diesels are
1/ Whitbarrow an Essel Engineering model of a Petrol Locomotive.
further info here: http://www.mattharvey.com/esselengineer ... &Itemid=59
Interestingly this Loco also ran regularly I understand on the "Winster Valley Railway".

2/ The other Diesel is an IP engineering metal 0-6-0 chassis though actually running as an 0-4-0 these days. There is also a bevel gear drive form a vertically mounted motor rather than the IP set up. The body is made up from a ferroro rocher box and a metal cab kindly donated to the LMSR from the Lynmouth & Barnacle Bay RLWY.
The Brass plate on the front buffer of this Loco for when it performs its usual Duty of Banker up the very steep gradient to Carnforth Station.

When I saw the subject line I thought you meant THIS...

...but yours was fun too. I LIKE real freight on model railways. Also, love the Hellifield-style turntable stockade.
Well, now we know the buffer-stops work! (Heard at 2013 "Longest Day" solstice steamup)

If I remember right, Whitbarrow IS a Friog one, but they are now made by Essel as a Friog/Essel loco
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."
