I'd actually look at all those factors........................

If I'm buying track (which I'm not now) price would be the governing factor but otherwise your choice is limited - I'd sooner buy (say) from IP Engineering rather than through a shop stocking his stuff.

I'm with Brian on this one. I always buy from the manufacturer if possible.

I've got my ear to the ground and I've got a lot of personal experience, and I know who I can trust. That doesn't mean getting it 100% right first time, after all, nobody's perfect (except me, obviously). It means being keen to put it right when there's a problem.

Its not only price. Its online shop and info and being able to speak to someone in person. Best of all - getting everthing as cheap too. Brandbright please. Unless I want another IP kit. They dont sell em.

I think to be fair I take into account all those options when purchasing something, whether it be a loco, rolling stock, kit etc.

I do like a good online shop, where I can purchase anything I like at ease and know it will arrive safely, however its equally as pleasing to make a phone call to say Roundhouse or Bandbright and get friendly advice and a all round good service.

I agree with all of the above. I clicked on must have a good online shop because I don't live anywhere near a good railway shop so don't get to one to know the shopkeeper etc etc. It also depends on what I am buying as well. Actually haven't bought anything for the MPLR from a shop for ages, probably since the summer last year!

Sorry to say I have tried to deal with some complete pillocks in this game. However, on the plus side, I have also dealt with a lot of extremely good people too. So, my choice was other peoples reviews, although all are important.

Have I missed the point all are important but why do we need to know which one gets the most votes?

Just interesting to see what people think is the most important I guess (unless Keith is conducting market research for some as yet unpublicised cunning plan!).

Ahh yes I see now, Personally I think reputation is everything especially when most suppliers in our hobby do their own specialist things. There aren't that many boxes to move to make it cut throat commercial cheapest is king like say hornby.
