B12 is Back!!

Post by George » Thu Mar 22, 2012 6:31 pm

A little late i know.

Our (NNRs/M&GN Societys) flagship loco B12 8572 is back after a 6 year £300,000 overhaul Britains only surviving standard gauge inside cylinder 4-6-0 now back at home in probably the best condition shes been in since first built.
She looks absolutly stunning in her LNER green livery which is much more accurate than the last time she was in this livery and includes gold leaf letters and numbers.

Shame Tornado wont be apple green when she visits late August/early September would look great paired with 8572!

Heres some photos from her launch day on the 8th and the gala that weekend.

Thanks you can view better quality versions of my photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/64685723@N ... 572187351/

We are all so pleased to see B12, and to see her with the teaks is something we've long awaited to see.
The teaks are the unique LNER Quad-Art-Set said by the NRM to be the most important peice of heritage rolling stock outside National Collection, they were restored a few years ago at the cost of half a million pounds, also attached to the set you can see the LNER Pigeon Van
