ah ok thankyou, does anyone one know where I could get some photos of the train in the olden days? I remember a picture taken from a brake van looking down the train looking at the loco but cant remember where I saw it. Ive tried looking on google images but cant find anything. Thanks :)

Hi there, the Padarn Railway served the Dinorwic Quarry at Llanberis, there are too many books to list about Dinorwic, try Dinorwic in your search engine. The Narrow Gauge Railway Society did a small book recently about transporter wagons which has a chapter on this system, regards, Rob

I think you are talking about an Ivo Peters photograph.

:hello2: What you want is "The Padarn & Penrhyn Railways" by Susan Turner, 1975, David & Charles (Holdings) Ltd, ISBN 0 7153 6547 9 (Hardback -- was £4.50 new !! I bought my copy for £3.50 a couple of years ago !)

If all you want is the photos, or if you can't find the book (lots of technical and line info), I could be persuaded to scan in the photos of the piggy-back trains for research purposes (there are three or four in the book).

it's a GREAT website, and I think there might be a photo or two (somewhere in there, it's easy to get lost though  ) of the Padarn Railway with the trains (I think, i can't exactly remember now)

There is a loaded transporter wagon in the excellent museum at Tywyn Wharf station.
