Somewhat earlier in this thread i suggested Karen from the Welsh Highland, not out of personal preference but i was thinking about size and Roundhouse tending to use as many standard parts as possible.
Now looking at the previous models produced by Roundhouse they have not been scared to do models of prototypes which other manufacturers have already produced, also, going back far enough there was a time when Lady Anne/Dylan was available with alternative wheel base, valve gear etc.
Now i am not sure if this is technically possible but how about the Glyn Valley Tramway Locomotives, maybe it could be offered in basic and classic ranges with perhaps a different level of detail? one engine to suit two different markets? i guess it depends on whether the Roundhouse mechanical bits will fit within the GVT bodywork, cheers, Rob

Here is a 16mm scale "C" class Darj pacific built by Mike Gaskin & owned by Dave pinniger, coal fired in Darj red liverybessytractor:60263 wrote:hmmm yes I suppose. Right then, only other thing I can think of thats interesting and not been done before is a C class Darj pacific though it would probably be considered too expensive. Would make for a beautiful loco though.
John Brittain also makes em again coal fired........... Here is one in Darj green.
I agree, My Gosling "The Prince" is very nice but it's not one I run every day. A more basic one would be good, but it's a small loco & standard Roundhouse bits would be "Right out"dougrail:60648 wrote:Lovely photos, thanks for sharing INJIN
Still...a 'Basics' George England, to stay on topic, would be grand...

What I would like to see Roundhouse do, is make opening smokebox doors for all the classic locos, like Accucraft do, this makes it easy to fit a chuff pipe and looks more authentic than a smokebox where the door is just a dummy.

Not impossible, by a very long chalK; the hard work of reversing has been sorted on Taliesin (I know there is also a manual RH Taliesin around) - the biggest problem would be sorting out the burners - I do wonder if having two separate boilers with a pair of FG burners back-to-back would be feasible, and the join in the boilers would be covered by a dummy cowling looking like the boiler to all intents and purposes.Palmerston:61085 wrote:Double Fairlie
Wonder if RH could knock up one of the 2-8-6 single fairlies from the Denver, South Park and Pacific.
Moel Tryfan/Snowdon Ranger - extra wheel on the power bogie and I think the boiler (at a very, very rough guess) could work out about Manifold length.

South African Railways NG10? It would also look at home on an American themed layout.

I rather like that idea as they were rather attractive little locomotives. It would however make a very nice big engine for a 32mm gauge line without being huge.williamfj:62805 wrote:WD Hunslet 4-6-0 anyone? It would satisfy both the prototypical modellers and those who like to make their own railway companies.

Traffic Pattern? What pattern? Spuds out; grain in, but cattle, sheep and passengers are a lot less predictable.
