Anglicising an Otto with a Tender

Post by cjallenby » Sun Oct 02, 2011 10:25 pm

I have had an otto, which has appeared in several gueises over the years, but now its time to bash it into something more permanent and add a tender to carry the batteries when not in use with track power. I had attempted to make a tender before, but this was not very neat or successful, so hopefull this one will be. A couple of pics of the various variations of the otto on the railway now and pics of the bash tomorrow!

How it will look, but with tender in the style of a 4MT and a revised cab, front will become back and there will be a new front made.

In the first picture it looks like you have stuffed one of those Good Luck Troll toys from the 80's down the funnel ;)

The chassis is an LGB wagon one with the middle taken out and two old bits off an LGB wagon glued on with "No More Nails" glue in the middle. The body is being made from plasticard.

After much swearing, hammering and generally making a mess, the engine is coming along nicely. Now painted blue, the orriginal name of "Black Beauty" wont work so it is to be known as "Big Bertha" on account of it being the largest locomotive to be bashed in the workshop so far!
