Why does "Seagull" have brass spectacle rings in the first picture, then it doesn't in any of the other pictures?

it seemed in good shape to me and ran superbly, it did look a little mucky though as it had been running at its owners own railway the previous day and he hadnt had time to give it a clean before it come to visit mine.
