A New Permanent Hedge Cutting Vehicle for the H.W.L.R

So for those of you that have been following my H.W.L.R thread you will know that back at the start of the Year I equipped out my IP Rapier 'SKYE' with a hedge cutter attachment:

Now this went down really well at railways around the area as they didnt have anything like it, and it caused a bit of interest with the spotters too.

As the contracts started coming in thick and fast, the H.W.L.R's Manager thought it would be right to make a permanent vehicle for the Task.  Now as he had an IP Lollypop Railcar sitting at the back of the shed surrounded by other parts, he thought it would be a good idea to convert it to carry out the Hedge Cutting role. So plans were drawn up and the workers at Jacobs Wharf got to work and heres some of their progress soo far :D : (they have just under 2 weeks to get the machine ready... NO PRESSURE!!! )

The space above the locker will have two engine flaps to gain entry into the engine compartment and these will have Cambrian Louvres added to them. On the opposite side there will be another locker and some steps (to gain access to the roof) and hopefully a couple of pins to hold some chain. Other details will be added.

The Hedge Cutter is going to be mounted on the front in the middle. The drivers Cab is going to be fronted with some wire mesh to protect the driver from all that flying debris!!

So as you can see theres still loads to do, but I'm confident it will get finished.  :D

Britains do them for their range of model tractors, 1:24 or something like that but these machines vary in size in 1:1 scale anyhow. http://www.britainsfarmtoys.com/spearhe ... mower.html

Petes correct Brian :D Britains do them, this particular one is 1:35 scale but its just the right size =] I got mine off of E(vil)bay, but the prices on there seem to have risen as I paid £5-6 for mine in total, so i'm not sure if they have been discontinued :?
