MPLR Open Day photos

Just some photos of our open day last weekend. It was a really hot sunny day and I got sunburnt! Not a lot of 16mm members but enough to keep us busy. We had a BBQ and raised some money for Guide Dogs.


Have to say I liked this rake of carriages....

If anybody can tell me what this is let me know! It's big, it's noisy and actually I quite liked it!! Sorry I did mean to ask the owner! Are you out there??

Nothing like taking it easy when driving your train is there!!

There are some more but here is what all the fundraising was for. Yes he is a real guide dog and he is Mr F Controllers. I think most of our visitors never made the connection!

Speaking of which, I meant to ask - did you "scratchbuild" the Morris side's squeezebox or is it an off the shelf item?

Looks like you had a great time.
The noisy big loco could have been one built by Pilgrim Loco Works as the real diesel electric engines in them are ones used in model planes so make one hell of a row!

The diesel is a Darjeeling Himalayan Railway NDM-6. Could be the Worsley Works kit?

Yes, I made the melodeon, thought it looked rather like a Hohner Erica myself! I have to admit to having a softspot for the Morris men and rather enjoyed making them. Don't know how you are going to manage the 'tatters' though Greg!

Thanks for all the ideas about the diesel, I think Cornelius you are right. I've got that feeling he mentioned it, now you've said it. I did rather like it, actually I like a lot of the Darjeeling stuff must be my colonial upbringing!
