The garden is starting to look beautiful again!
Image
Image
Quite a bit of planting has occured and all have taken root and become established surprisingly quickly!
You may also note that the track is looking alot less muddy...

A new Bridge has been built for the Rendlesham mannor.

This one is my favourite view of the line at the moment.

A new church is being made form polystyrene

And to prove I have been concentrating on my exams, so few trains have run on the DVLR recently that I found this in the tunnel entrance!
A large spider's web that had caught all the little flowers from one of our bushes!

To complement my real "Woodbridge" sign...

I made a station name board for Woodbridge station

Well its all looking alot less muddy and alot more green - yay.

Thats coming on great Zach. I know how it feels to have something akin to a construction site for a railway now, but it's great when thing start to bed in & plants take a hold... The joys of railways in the garden is nature covers up the eye sores we make! ;)

Great Work Mr. Bond :D It's starting to "bed in" nicely now! Glad you featured a photo of the Woodbridge sign - I meant to take a snap of it myself when I visited!

Rebuilding a railway in a "mature" environment can be difficult - I've been fighting the vegetation this evening whilst track relaying in a cutting on the MDLR!

Piccies!
In preparation for the regatta special, (and the first train able to reach aldeburgh) tickets were made up

The train formed

Including new carriage:

The rough idea of what the layout of Aldeburgh station will be

River Alde comes off shed
Image
Rene's been at the bottle again...
Image
Gelert's boat yard building was put back together (thanks cats for knocking it apart!) and a small junk store added
Image
Today I have been improving the turntable layout - I found yesterday that whilst River Alde fits, she won't turn around as there isn't enough clearance. So a retaining wall was constructed in the usual fasion! I also added a road up the hill into woodbridge town

While I was at it I finished off the tunnel wings on the east portal of Catchit Tunnel

Well construction has started on the River Deben/Alde which runs along side the railway and then goes under it twice before terminating in a pond. I bought some pond sheeting which came to about 10 pounds with lots of discount from a loyalty card. We have a friend who is a builder who will be surplying industrial strength glue/sealent to join all the strips togethor. I couldn't resist filling one of the strips up with water and having a play...

Image
Plan is to put a magnetic strip down the middle to guide motorised boats along... The water will be pumped out of the pond at the other end and brought along a pipe to the woodbridge end where it will come up behind a working replica of the famous tide mill.

The plan is to have a nice reflection from the train running along the river...

Nice work Mr.B! I wonder what the cats will make of the new feature??!

I must repeat myself by saying that I would love a real water feature myself (instead of the acrylic sheet quay that I have currently!) - I must do something about it before I lay track over any remaining possible sites as I've done with "The Works Branch"!

Oh yes, and I love the "new coach" ;)

Thats a great idea Zach :D you're going to get some great pictures from there once that is all set in. Were you going to plant anything inbetween the railway and the ""river"" to add a bit of colour in the summer or the usual dock looking walls with the large timber uprights?

Mmmm nice - look forward to seeing how this develops. Our pond here (tatty, ancient half-barrel) has just emptied itself again - cue for replacement? (The railway will, of course, have to run right through the middle of the current pond.)
