45mm, if you're after cheap(er) 32mm Faller is the company, I think they use brass rail.

I doesn't as it's non-ferrous, I find it gets very dirty though. Brass develops a green coating over time (like the statue of liberty), I'm sure one of our wiser members will be able to explain why. I'm not saying that your rails are going to turn green though, just very dirty, and possibly a little green.

Faller e-train track has some incredibly tight radius curves. I would not even run a Mamod on that track. Their rolling stock is quite good & cheap as well. Somewhere in my storage wardrobe I've got a box full of the Faller e-train locos, some are battery powered, and the track powered ones could be converted to battery power as well. They produced a few different steam locos, a diesel loco in at least 2 colours, and similarly a railcar in 2 colours.

Here's the tender version loco, with a Mamod SL1K for comparision.

And here is 2 curves, with a Mamod curve for comparision. Just look at that tight radius, not suitable for any live steam really.

The current Playmobil railway stuff is all plastic track, but they used to do versions with basically LGB track included in the 1980s.
