Painting RH wheels

Post by tom_tom_go » Sat Mar 19, 2011 12:54 am

I want to paint the sides of the wheels (not the part that actually makes contact with the rails) on my SL.

I would rather not take the running gear apart to do this so can I just gives the wheels a wipe with white spirit and then paint them using enamels with a brush?

Cheers,

Tom

In short yes, although it may chip easier than if properly primed

Thanks for the quick response :)

To avoid chipping could I apply a varnish afterwards?

I could always paint the wheels with Humbrol No. 1 grey primer first?

Cheers,

Tom

I'd definitely go with a brush. (Hamsters and other small rodents tend to get the paint everywhere!)
