It's an absolutely SUPERB kit which I'm really looking forward to building. By the look of things it'll just slot together (unlike IP Engineering kits) and I'm looking forward to really doing it justice. I've got carpet for the saloon floor and "tiles" for the kitchen and toilet floors, and a table lamp for the middle of the table. It'll have additional lighting as well: I do wonder whether I ought to put the frosted glass in the toilet - it seems such a shame to hide all the detail!

Yeah I wouldnt mind one either, Corr!! the Lines Management Staff aren't going to know whats hit them!! :D

Yeah the FfR Quarrymens kit has slots for various parts and it really helps with the kits construction and to keep things really square! And for the frosted glass in the toilet, you'll have ask the staff what they think  The lamp in the middle of the table is a good idea too, you should put little name cards on there too!!

Yeah I think they go together really well too :D , the enclosed one looks ace :D I will have to look into getting one of those enclosed ones too at some point :D , the only downside like everything else in this hobby, is the cost of things :(

Hi All,

Just a quick update as usual :D

I did manage to get my hands on one of the VoR Matchboard Bogie Open Summer coaches and that should hopefully be arriving tomorrow :D

The FfR Quarrymens Coach is still underway, theres still loads to do but im really waiting on the arrival of some Red Oxide paint :?

Anyway i'll let the pictures do the talking (sorry about the quality it was too dark to go outside) :D

I couldnt make my mind up about a livery at first, so i started painting this into HWLR Coach Livery (green sides and black ends)and gave the window frames a coat of gold paint but i changed my mind and revertted back to painting it in Red Oxide, how they used to be.
Image
The Insides: the floor is a dark shade of green, the inside planks are brown and the benches are a light grey.

Heres one of the inside sides, brown planks with gold/brass window frames and grey seats, work is still going on this part.

Another View of one of the inside pieces

This is how i'm doing the removable roof, leaving the 2 middle roof struts in and using the 2 outer ones to make the roof removable and help it to keep its shape, in the end coach will have lighting from 2 yellow L.E.D's and figures will be included also, the battery box will be hidden between the 2 axles on the underside.

Thats all :D

And heres another shot of the FfR quarrymans with its other sides in, i didnt cut the benches as well as id first hoped but its a squeeze in there, and its nothing that a bit of polyfilla or wood filla wont hide, just waiting on the paint still and the wheels from brandbright :D

Hi All,

That end was still drying when I took the photos :D

and also the Bogies for the VoR Summer Coach and the Vac Pipes arrived on thursday after sending off the money on monday, so i was again impressed :D I havent done much work on this coach soo far as I have been trying to finish off the quarrymens coach. Both sides have had their first coats of green, which has then been sanded down and the ends have both had 2 coats of black with sanding in between.

Thanks for the comments guys  :D
why aren't you using spray paints rather than doing it all by brush?
I dunno really, I've never spray painted anything model wise, I suppose its because i've always had a tin of paint and a brush to hand so thats how its been done, I do often wondered why I spend so much time hand painting but then its something ive done ever since i've started (old habits)  :D

Spooner, you get 3 different pairs of plates in the kit (they are laser cut not brass, i just gave the edges a going over in brass paint) thats so you can decide what number you want the coach to be, in my kit I had numbers: 3,9 and 12, and as you might be able to see I used 12  :D

I have come up with a cunning plan (along with some help from someone else on the NGRM forum) To sit people in the corners to cover the bad joints (my bad cutting work!) some of the gaps are also big enough to pass the wires up through to use later on for lighting :D, and how the people will be sitting in the corners will also help to conceal most of the wiring

Thats all
