This mornning I started to build the Brandbright (Triassic designed and cut) Ashover light railway 'Gloucester' Coach.

All I can say is...WOW! they are exquisit. Brilliant in every detail!

this is as far as I have managed to get today.

Does the kit include bogies or do you have to source them?

No bogies. the kit suggests wrightscale ones but I believe this one is going to have AnDel ones under it

Very nice, do like the Ashover coaches

, but the price puts me off!!!

Or well get some 009 ones

Lovely job! I notice 90733 is now a driver- bravo.
They look really nice when finished (I've had a few behind River Alde once!)

IP Engineering have one in the pipeline - I understand around £75 with wooden bogies!

Look very detailed. The plank detail looks quite shallow, is the paint going to cover it ?

The coach is now resplendant in its crimson lake livery. It has had 3 top coats and the planking is still very much visable, it also had 3 coats of red oxide primer with rubbing down between each coat also.

the paint is matched to that on the original which is infact darker than crimson lake, this is probley do to the ashovers hit and miss paint mixing technique which was meant to match the midland railways leftovers. so I had the paint mixed to match the darker maroon which is infact boston lodge maroon. Still cant get intouch with the owner so for the time being will not be lined.

dnt worry was only there to take photos, it is very a very well balanced and weighty coach so would take a good wobble to knock it off!
