totally agree, but we need 4 locomotives avaialble to operate the service we propose in future years.

A steam locomotive is on the 'nice to have' list and conversion of Poseidon or Robin Hood is not on the Agenda. Collectively, the four Diesel Hydraulics we have are the oldest, 2nd, 3rd and 4th oldest in the world.

An 0-4-0 Bagnall or alike would do the same job at a fraction of the cost.

It is likely to be co-ordinated through our 'Friends' group and on a similar basis to the A1 Build - £2.50 per week for 3 years x 80 people, plus the tax back.

Now if someone wants to fund a Pacific, we have the railway to run it on.

PS I must have the biggest 'Garden Railway' in miniature as we go through 'Northstead Manor Gardens'. :lol:
