They are (in no particular order) a visit to the Mariazellerbahn- 50 miles of electrified 2'6" running through fabulous mountain scenery behind 101-year old C-C (on bogies, but with jackshafts and siderods) electric locos- and an almost-in-the-cab-ride on a modern (yes, there is such a thing as modern image narrow gauge in Austria) 5090 class diesel railcar along all that's currently running of the Ybbstalbahn. This 5km stub of 2'6" is what's left of a line that until last year totalled 60km, main and branch, and also ran diesel loco hauled passenger and freight (timber) services. Enjoy!
