Bday steam up at IMES

Post by Dr. Bond of the DVLR » Wed Jan 06, 2010 10:14 pm

On the Garden railway we had a steam up for mine and David's joint birthday (havn't had it yet dont panic)
Here is the video
It is a really long track and a great place for locos to stretch their legs!

Cor that was a long video! Loved 'The Doll', and the gauge 1 project loco - very good.

Its a long track and I wanted to give you some idea of it's legth, because I hate to see 16mm scale locos going fast it usualy takes about 7 to 10 minuits to get my trains round one lap however because of the minus temperatures I opened River Deben's regulator wide!
The Doll is a fantasticly bazaar loco, one Ossy and only runs backwards, spirit fired with a proper stevensons fire box!
His project loco runs superbly!

yeah brilliantly odd, the line is a little too long for 16mm scale to be honest, it took 15 minuits once to get River Alde round with top ups on the way. But then again at the speed I drive what do you expect!!
