With all due respect, it's not exactly hard to drive a mamod  ! I find on my railway it's the quality of the track & it's laying.

In answer to silly billy's last post, the mamod was on the far side of the line where I couldn't get at it.

I'm not to sure. All I know is that it had been fitted with a finner funnel, and had most of the mods you can get for a mamod.

Matt wrote:Hi. Since I only own Mamods and a Jane, and my line uses sharp mamod track, derailments are common on my line. One of the most serious crashes involving one of my engines happened on a line in Carlisle, when one of my mamods ran full speed into the front of a stationary Mamod. Mine survived without damage, but the other loco rolled over and lost its funnel and chuff pipe! Sorry to who owned that Mamod.
I believe Matthew, That would have been my YDG! I don't recall there being any lasting damage! It was simply a matter of epoxyin' the chimney back on and slippin the chuff pipe back in place! I hope you've got those mamods a bit more contollable these days!

Hey, at least its not as bad as what I did today!! I demolished completely my battery Lucy loco!!!!!!!!!! It's inrepairable!!
I was cutting a piece of copper tubing in my vice, and the saw got stuck and as I drew back, the table wobbled, and a cutting board on a shelf fell of and tipped backwards onto Lucy! All thats left is the chassis and footplate.....
