16mm Association Members Video 2010 - call for videos
I've very much enjoyed watching the videos posted here in the past month or few. Some of them (NOT the ones of Bluebottle getting nobbled!) are well worth sharing with a wider audience.
Now you've got the chance! We're looking for videos to feature on the DVD we send to 16mm Association members in February. If YOU want to submit a video, contact William Bickers-Jones at: william.bickers-jones@ntlworld.com - perhaps posting a link to the Youtube video in the first instance, though he'll be needing higher-quality originals for the DVD itself.
Go for it - you may get a 16mm Oscar!

Presumably lost wax brass cast?MDLR wrote:Go for it - you may get a 16mm Oscar!
I've already been in correspondence to William Bickers-Jones via the egroup about it, and I asked about what format he wants it:
I'm thinking about sending in my Lizard Light Railway video in, or maybe the Gunwalloe one? Whatcha all think?Basically flash or wmv, as used on youtube, just aren't up to it. It might get viewed on a 50" TV! I really want the original raw .avi footage off a camcorder, or failing that, Mpegs. Obviously the amount of data involved means resorting to posting a disc with the files on, for me to edit them into shape. Transferring gigabytes about the place electronically seems fraught with issues.

They could get DVDvideosoft. That's what I used to get a clip of the starwars kid in this videomhlr wrote:I'm thinking about sending in my Lizard Light Railway video in, or maybe the Gunwalloe one? Whatcha all think?

Yes it has got daleks on it but it was made as a test with DVDvideosoft for the starwars kid & Audacity for the background sound. Overall it's a good example for it's use

I did say i would send him an email a while ago about my various videos.
I think ill drop him one now.
I think plenty of my footage is worth going in (without being too big headed!) but ill show him what iv got and let him decide what he wants then send him the relevant files.
Laalratty: would you mind if i submitted the vids from your steam up that you provided? You will of course be credited appropriatley

I agree with that (it narrows my competition )SillyBilly wrote:I think what William's note also says is that footage off a Point & Shoot camera like I believe many of us use, really isn't up to the job.
in all seriousness i think Wills right. It will help if a tripod was used, however I think that even my footage wont look great on a 50" TV never mind the stuff off a digital camera (i.e. one primarily used for taking still photographs)
Thanks,

Paul, please go ahead and submit the video of my line, I would love to see it on the DVD
I'm off to see LMSjools tommorow hopefully to see if any of the clips of his camera are any good, it is a point and shoot camera but it is very good, with an AVI output that I know mine could never manage. He also uses a tri pod for his shots, which I rarely do (often because I foget the thing!)

"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."
