Taliesin with Taliesin

Post by laalratty » Sun Aug 09, 2009 3:44 pm

On the Friday evening of my holiday as a finale for kids week 2 locos were due to be steamed up for a drive an engine session. These were booked to be Lilla and Palmeston, both of which I have had the pleasure of driving in the past. After finishing work on Friday me and dad went down to Boston Lodge to have a quick look round. We arrived to find Palmeston cold and lifeless at the back of the engine shed, and Taliesin in steam in the yard, undergoing testing following the fitting of new tubes. A check with the driver confirmed that Taliesin was now to be the other drive an engine loco, along with Lilla. This allowed me and dad to head back home to get changed and pick up something for a very special photoshoot...

The driver was one of many people who were rather impressed with the Roundhouse model, although quite a few people were soon fireing suggested mods at me to make it more like the real thing!

"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."
