WHAT LOCO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE.......
WHAT LOCO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE.......
Easy have a poll re the one you'd like to see back in production..or even better one not done before...then have an online petition and send to the maker........and if they are reluctant then design using the makers parts..ie Roundhouse, they have buckets of parts...then propose it
I will say why put into production one from the past ......you can always track down an old one....why not go for something new..
ie..Kerr Stuart SKYLARK 0-4-2 or Wantage No5 'Shannon' 0-4-0

SO>>>>>
Good point Mr Chair...though I see no reason why 'suggestions' cannot be made as makers are always looking for something the others don't do that will be popular (and money making)
However there is no reason then that we as a froum/blog with the skills we have between us, not create an on line plan of a loco we can build...
Set some simple rules
ie use a particualr chassis or parts
a pre tested boiler from roundhouse etc......
The thing I enjoy is that I can be different from everyone else...there is nothing wrong with the production Locos they are excellant quality and interesting, but seeing Edrigs Lady Annes etc all the time is boring...also most recent production locos are too a like.....
Just a thought

ps...heres a suggestion or two

I'd really really love a model of Gelert from the porthmadog Welsh Highland Railway. (not an original engine) It worked platinum mines in Africa. I think it is one of the most asthteticly (sorry- spelling!!) pleasing locos there is!

Good choice, a very aesthetically balanced engine.Mr. Bond of the DVLR wrote:I'd really really love a model of Gelert from the porthmadog Welsh Highland Railway. I'd like a reintroduction of the Merlin W&L Hunslet, preferably by Accucraft to the same standards as their Earl/ Countess.
